Already explored Mannheim? Time to discover the area around!
With the Palatinate we have one of Germany's biggest wine-areas next door. This week, we want to show you the “Deidesheimer Weinkerwe” which is also called the most beautiful wine festival of the Palatinate.
Different wineries from the region present their wines, you can taste traditional food, and buy local products.
When? Friday August 16th, 5:15 pm
Where? Mannheim main station
We will meet all together in front of the main station in Mannheim and go there by train. If you have a semester ticket this trip is for free. Otherwise please make sure that you purchase a ticket beforehand.
You might need some cash because you can’t pay by card at most of the stands.
Insider’s tip: Try the “Weinschorle”. Yes, in Germany we mix wine with water, that’s weird. But you won’t find anything more typical for the region!

Ihr habt in Mannheim mittlerweile alles gesehen? Dann wird es Zeit die Umgebung zu erkunden!
Mit der Pfalz haben wir eines der größten Weinanbaugebiete direkt vor der Haustür. Diese Woche wollen wir euch die Deidesheimer Weinkerwe zeigen, die sich auch als schönstes Weinfest der Pfalz bezeichnet.
Dort präsentieren verschiedene Weingüter aus der Region ihre Weine, ihr könnt traditionelles Essen probieren und lokale Produkte kaufen.
Wann? Freitag 16.08.2019, 17:15 Uhr
Wo? Mannheim Hauptbahnhof
Wir werden uns vor dem Mannheimer Hauptbahnhof treffen und gemeinsam mit dem Zug dorthin fahren. Wenn ihr ein Semesterticket habt ist die Fahrt mitinbegriffen, wenn nicht, besorgt euch bitte vorher ein Ticket. Ihr solltet auch Bargeld dabei haben, weil man an den Ständen in der Regel nicht mit Karte zahlen kann
Noch ein Tipp: Probiert die Weinschorle. Ihr werdet nichts finden das so typisch für diese Region ist.
